Foundation 2: April 18th to 21st, 2025 (30 hrs)

You will learn the classic routine of the Northern style (Nuad-Bo-Rarn). Nuad means “to touch with the intention of imparting healing” and Bo-Rarn is a Sanskrit word meaning “something that is ancient and revered”. This eight days training is a very good place to start and get a strong foundation in Thai Massage. This classic style derives from the Shivago Kormapaj lineage taught at the Old Chiang Mai Hospital in Thailand.
In Foundation 1, you will learn the supine position. Then, sideline, prone and seated positions in Foundation 2. You need both foundation courses to perform a full body massage and to get a certificate.
As mindfulness is the most essential attribute of an exceptional Thai Massage practitioner, each day starts with one hour of yoga, QiGong, stretching, Ruesri Dat Ton, or meditation.
This course is primarily hands-on. You will learn three to four times more techniques than needed to create a 90-minute session, which will give you creative alternatives to customize your session. Francine, your instructor, emphasizes the practitioner’s body alignment while performing the techniques to ensure that students are receiving the maximum benefit to their own bodies.
