I am a Registered Massage Therapist in Alberta, a Registered Thai Therapist and Instructor with the Thai Healing Alliance International, a Manual Osteopathy Practitioner. and a Natural Health Practitioners of Canada member
I bring 26 years of experience in the Thai Massage world.
My practice is unique in that I blend different Thai Massage styles during one session, customized to your needs. I use my intuition and knowledge to guide me in creating a personalized session. Not one session is ever the same. Chinese acupoints are used during the session to let the Chi flow more freely.
Traditional Thai Massage
It is an ancient healing art that has been practiced for 2500 years. A full-body relaxation massage that typically lasts 90 minutes. This is the treatment to zone out and replenish your body. Here, you are getting not only a massage but also an experience. As Francie performs the treatment, she also assesses your body and gets information to share with you at the end of the session. Cupping and Gua Sha may be used to draw out wind and toxins and remove stagnation and blocks.
Clinical Thai Bodywork
In this therapeutic treatment, I aim to identify the underlying cause of your chronic muscle pain or dysfunction. I begin with a postural assessment and orthopedic tests. Your treatment is personalized and combines Thai bodywork with Western techniques. The treatment is carried out on a floor mat while you are fully clothed.
Clinical Thai Bodywork integrates trigger point therapy, post-isometric techniques, aspects of manual osteopathy, an electric point stimulator, a muscle liberator tool, and a heat pack.
According to several studies and my own experience, the vast majority of pain cases are due to trigger points in muscles. This treatment is very effective in treating common conditions such as frozen shoulder, carpal tunnel syndrome, headaches, tennis elbow, knee pain, back pain, and many others.
At the end of the treatment, Francie will give you tips, remedial exercises, or lifestyle suggestions that will empower you on your way to wellness.
Luk Pra Kob
Luk Pra Kob means Thai herbal packs and is an ancient treatment used in Thailand.
It is an add-on applied with a regular Thai massage treatment or clinical Thai bodywork for an additional fee.
A blend of indigenous Thai medicinal herbs like turmeric, yellow Siamese ginger, lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, prai and camphor are wrapped in a light cloth and heated in a steamer. The warm compress is applied to tense muscles and stiff joints to relieve inflammation and muscular aches. It aids in circulation and nourishes and softens the skin. Typically, a Thai massage therapist will not only place a compress on the affected area but will also work on Sen lines (Pathways) throughout the body to assist the body’s natural healing processes.
