Are you interested in learning the art of Thai Massage?
Look no further because Francie, an experienced and knowledgeable instructor, offers an intensive and comprehensive course to teach you the techniques, culture, and spirituality behind this ancient tradition.
Over the course of eight days, you will learn the classic routine of Northern style (Nuad-Bo-Rarn), which derives from the Shivago Kormapaj lineage taught at the Old Chiang Mai Hospital in Thailand. The course is primarily hands-on, and you will learn around 180 techniques, significantly more than needed to create a 90-minute session, providing you with creative alternatives to customize your session fully.
Francine emphasizes the practitioner’s body alignment while performing the techniques to ensure that students receive maximum bodily benefit.
As mindfulness is the most essential attribute of an exceptional Thai Massage practitioner, each day starts with Qi Gong, mantras, and/or meditation.
In Foundation 1, you will learn the supine position; in Foundation 2, you will learn the sideline, prone, and seated positions. You need both foundations to perform a full body massage and to receive a certificate recognized by Thai Healing Alliance International.
In addition to learning the techniques, you will also learn about Thai Medicine, Thai Massage history, self-care tips for the Thai Massage practitioner, tips on how to start and end a session, mantras in Sanskrit, Wind gates, Sen lines (pathways), working stances, transition moves, form and fluidity of Thai Massage, massage routine, cultivating Chi, meditation, and Qi Gong. There will also be sharing circles to connect with your fellow students and work on the self.
