New to the West
Thai Massage is one of the last of the Asian modalities to reach the West, which explains its mystery to many, the lack of knowledge about it and the finding of only one generation of a few advanced Thai massage practitioners in the West. Although, in the high end spas of the West Coast and Europe, Thai Massage has become one of the most popular form of bodywork. Things are usually a little slower to get to the North, the interior and the East. For example, there are lots of Thai Massage places in LA but very few in New York.
Massage Training is Flexible
With Thai Massage training, you have the advantage to take short courses from 3 days long to one month either in North America, Europe, Thailand or India. You don’t need a long term commitment like many other forms of bodywork require. You can take a lot of short courses spread out over your entire lifetime. It’s awesome!
It gives you enough time to hone your skills and save enough cash for your next training, perhaps with a new teacher, a different location and a new style of Thai Massage. How cool is that?
On the road again, this time maybe Chicago or Costa Rica for two weeks. Really, it could be anywhere on the planet. It will depend on the season. You can even take a Thai Massage course on a floating platform on a beautiful lake in a National Park in Thailand.
Resources for Thai Massage Training
Thai Healing Alliance International is a good resource to find out about courses and practitioners around the globe. You could even learn Thai Massage with me in beautiful Nelson BC while you enjoy the mountain culture and the groovy people who live there.
Train Quickly in Thai Massage
Taking a Thai Massage training is like a mini vacation with the bonus of learning an amazing ancient healing art. If you are dedicated, you could become an advanced practitioner in a very short time. Thai Massage is becoming more and more popular and there are not enough advanced practitioners out there so your timing is right to learn it now. Since I have moved to the city, I have been asked to work at many places and keep having to turn down the work so we need more Thai practitioners in Canada, that’s for sure.
